Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano acknowledged the excitement but urged fans to exercise patience.
He explained that while talks are advanced and a personal agreement with Gyokeres is reportedly in place, the clubs have yet to agree on the transfer fee.
“Guys, I know there are some suggestions in the recent days that the deal was already done and completed.
“It was not done, but it doesn’t mean that the deal is not getting done,” Romano said.
He also confirmed that Viktor Gyokeres has made his intentions clear, refusing to attend Sporting’s training as he pushes for the move.
“The message is very clear from Viktor Gyokeres – he will not show up.
“He doesn’t want to train or to play for Sporting anymore.
“He wants to go to Arsenal.”

Romano added that the negotiations between Arsenal and Sporting over the fee remain ongoing.
“Let them work. Let them negotiate. I will not be negative on this Joker story.”
A BOLA also reported that the Gunners are withdrawing from the pursuit following a frustrating deadlock in talks with Sporting CP, but that seems to not be the case as per Romano’s latest update.
This transfer saga is particularly relevant to Manchester United supporters, as the Red Devils were previously linked with Gyokeres in their search for a proven goalscorer.
