Man Utd want to sign Bryan Mbeumo in the summer transfer window but are yet to finalise a move for him.

Bryan Mbeumo is reportedly 'very frustrated' his move to Manchester United has not been completed yet. United have seen two formal bids rejected by Brentford for the forward but are still hopeful they will be able to sign him in time for their pre-season tour of the United States later this month.

Ruben Amorim wants to add Premier League-proven players to his squad this summer as he looks to improve the overall physicality and athleticism of his side, with Mbeumo identified as a top target after they signed Matheus Cunha from Wolves. United are still hopeful they will reach a compromise with Brentford over a financial package, with the London club understood to want at least £65 million for him.

The 25-year-old is adamant he only wants to move to Old Trafford this summer and personal terms are not understood to be an issue if the clubs can agree on a transfer fee. Brentford rejected a second bid of an initial £55m fee with £7.5m in add-ons and are understood to want as much of the money paid upfront as possible.

Mbeumo insider offers update on transfer

Manchester United fans aren't the only ones growing frustrated at a lack of movement in their pursuit of Bryan Mbeumo this summer. It is understood the player is also annoyed that his future has not been sorted yet, ahead of a planned return to pre-season training with Brentford next week.

The London club have warned they are under no immediate pressure to sell Mbeumo this summer and are happy to keep him at the club for another season given he is effectively contracted to them for another two years. It all seems like typical transfer games as both sides look to get the best deal possible.

Cameroon assistant coach, Ashu Cyprian Besong, has revealed he recently had a conversation with the Brentford forward and spoke to him about his proposed move to Old Trafford. "Yes, obviously he’s very frustrated with how long it’s taken. But he’s a professional and anticipates these things," Besong told Telecom Asia.

"I spoke to him about a week ago and he is very calm with everything that is going on. But of course, he’s already told them he wants to go to United. He just wanted the two clubs to find an agreement, as he’s very grateful for the opportunity that he’s been given by Brentford in his career."
