Luis Enrique’s Paris Saint-Germain are currently viewed as the best team in the world.
Last season was a historical one for the French giants as they won the treble, while also securing their first Champions League crown. Since then, PSG have not slowed down, as they continue to make big statements at the FIFA Club World Cup.
Real Madrid were hammered 4-0 by Enrique’s men on Wednesday night as they booked their place in the Club World Cup final against Chelsea, and the conversation following the victory has been about where the Ligue 1 champions rank amongst the best teams in football history.
The 2025 PSG team will be in the conversation; however, ESPN pundit Alejandro Moreno believes Pep Guardiola had a better team at Man City.

2023 Man City were better than current PSG team
PSG and their players have impressed many throughout the last 12 months, with Achraf Hakimi leaving an impression on Erling Haaland.
Despite this, Moreno thinks Man City’s treble winners were better than the current PSG side, stating that Guardiola’s men produced throughout a longer period of time.

“Start 2010 Barcelona. I’m going to bench 2023 Manchester City. And I’m going to drop 2025 PSG. And the only reason I’m going to do that is because six, seven months ago, this was not PSG,” Moreno said on ESPN FC.
“All I’m suggesting is that what we have seen from PSG, while it has been great, and it really has been great, it has been a great six, seven months.
“Six, seven months. I need to see more of this PSG team. The signs of what we have seen from PSG actually tell us that the trajectory is very positive, and I’m all for it.
“But what we saw over the course of a long period of time, of the 2010 Barcelona and the 2023 Manchester City, over the whole year, I think is superior to what we have seen so far from PSG. That’s it.”
Guardiola’s 2023 team are held in high regard by many, as Alan Shearer rates that Man City team higher than Man United’s 1999 squad.
It would be interesting to see who would come out on top if the 2023 and 2025 PSG teams faced off, as both were unplayable during their periods of domination.

How 2023 Man City compares to Luis Enrique’s 2025 PSG team
Both teams are in the conversation due to their achievements of winning the treble in both of their respective countries, and many football fans will say that Man City’s is more impressive, as the Premier League is a much harder competition than Ligue 1.
On the other hand, it can be argued that the French giants won the Champions League more impressively than the 2023 City team, as Enrique’s men were dominant throughout, before hammering Inter Milan 5-0. While the Manchester club would beat the same opponent by just a single goal.
2023 Man City teams 2025 PSG
28 Wins 26
5 Draws 6
5 Losses 2
74% Win percentage 76%
94 Goals scored 92
33 Goals conceded 35
89 League points 84
When it comes to the numbers, it is also hard to separate the two teams as they are very similar, which kind of leaves it down to the eye test.
Many will have been more impressed by PSG’s displays last season, while Moreno’s point about Man City producing results over a longer period could also be the deciding factor.
