Hamza Igamane is facing an uncertain future at Rangers this summer.

The 22-year-old starred in the Scottish Premiership last season after his £1.5million transfer from FAR Rabat last summer.

He notched 12 goals and one assist for the Ibrox outfit on his maiden season with the Govan outfit and that has attracted numerous suitors, including the likes of Everton and West Ham.

However, a move to France seemed to be the likely outcome.

Sunderland took to Instagram (10 July) to announce the signing of Igamane’s fellow Moroccan Chemsdine Talbi, saying: “Welcome to Sunderland AFC, Chemsdine Talbi!

“Sealing a five-year contract at the Stadium of Light, the 20-year-old winger arrives from Club Brugge KV for an undisclosed fee.”

The Gers ace reacted by liking the post from his compatriot.

Rangers right not to stay firm on Igamane demands

Ultimately, whether Igamane departs or not, is up to Russell Martin and Co, as they hold all the cards when it comes to negotiations over his future.

He had a decent season but losing him, especially for big money, would not be a disaster by any means as he struggled to forge his way into Barry Ferguson‘s plans after he took over from Philippe Clement.

If they do not feel that they are getting enough money then they have every right to keep him around, as he is under contract until 2029.

The new majority ownership at Auchenhowie, the 49ers Enterprises group and Andrew Cavenagh have already proven that they are smart operators in the market and they will stand firm until they receive an offer that meets their demands.

The French side need to put up the money, or forget about signing the Light Blues ace, it is as simple as that.

If they fail to do so, the Gers will either wait for another side to bid the amount that they want, or keep Igamane and potentially watch him increasing his price for next summer.

The one-cap international could still leave the Gers, but it does not seem like it will be anytime soon, unless something drastically changes.
