The Boston Celtics appear to have made almost everyone available in trade talks this offseason—except for Jayson Tatum, who is currently recovering from a serious Achilles injury.

The 2024 NBA champions have already moved Jrue Holiday to the Portland Trail Blazers and Kristaps Porzingis to the Atlanta Hawks in an effort to get under the league's second apron.
However, according to Ashish Mathur of Hoops Wire, the Celtics "never came close" to trading Jaylen Brown, despite multiple teams expressing interest in the All-Star forward. The same reportedly applies to guard Derrick White.
Brown, 28, has been named to the All-Star team four times. He's set to earn $53.1 million next season after averaging 22.2 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 4.5 assists in 2024–25. He has spent his entire career with Boston.
White, 31, will make $28.1 million next season. Last campaign, he contributed 16.4 points, 4.5 rebounds, 4.8 assists, and 1.1 blocks per game.

As part of their offseason moves, the Celtics acquired Anfernee Simons from Portland and Georges Niang from Atlanta. They also signed Luka Garza while losing Luke Kornet in free agency.
Veteran big man Al Horford is not expected to return. The 39-year-old is an unrestricted free agent and has been heavily linked to the Golden State Warriors. Retirement is also reportedly on the table for the longtime Celtic.
