Manchester United are looking to Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins as they hope to sign their attacking crisis this summer.

With Ruben Amorim’s men failing to provide consistent firepower last season, with the exception of Bruno Fernandes, Amad Diallo and Alejandro Garnacho, the club are desperate to find a solution before the start of next season.

As such the club have been prioritising the redevelopment of their attacking trio, with Garnacho on his way out of the club, being replaced by Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Matheus Cunha.

Alongside him, United are still prioritising their month-long pursuit of Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo, with the pair looking to support a solo striker.

However, that striker still needs to be found with all four of United’s initial shortlist having been snapped up by other clubs, or at least are on the brink of it.

Liam Delap has already joined Chelsea, Viktor Gyokeres is in talks with Arsenal, Victor Osimhen is turning his loan with Galatasaray into a permanent move, and Liverpool are closing in on Hugo Ekitike.

As such, United are seemingly focused on bringing Ollie Watkins to Old Trafford, with one condition to do so.

CaughtOffside has reported that a move for Watkins can only happen after a sale of Rasmus Hojlund take place.

The Denmark international still has high stock in Serie A, with a return to Italy on the cards, it just remains to be seen with which club.

Since the winter, Napoli, Inter Milan and Juventus have all been linked to the struggling striker, with AS Roma being the most recent side to join the list.

If United can line up Hojlund’s departure, it opens the door for Watkins to move in as a proven Premier League striker to strengthen Amorim’s attack.
