Tottenham are hopeful of reaching agreement with Nottingham Forest over a £60million plus deal for Morgan Gibbs-White after his move to Manchester City fell through.

The swoop comes just one day after Spurs agreed a £55m deal to sign West Ham's Mohammed Kudus, who is set to be the first transfer between the two London clubs since Scott Parker in 2011.

Gibbs-White enjoyed a superb season at the City Ground last campaign as he marshalled Forest to a seventh place finish in the Premier League and broke into the England squad as a reward.

It is understood new Tottenham manager Thomas Frank has long admired Gibbs-White, who joined Forest from Wolves in 2022 for a fee of £42.5m.

Spurs chairman Daniel Levy will be keen to bolster Tottenham's squad after a disastrous season in the Premier League last term, with the north London outfit finishing 17th in the division despite winning the Europa League under now sacked boss Ange Postecoglou.
