Bayern Munich looks as though it could be turning its attention elsewhere as Liverpool continues to stand firm on Luis Diaz.
The winger continues to be linked with a move away from Anfield, as he has been for the past year or so. Barcelona is once again being linked with his services, with Bayern having also been heavily touted as a possible destination.
Diaz has admitted to speaking to other clubs this summer as he weighs up his future, although Liverpool appears to be in no mood to sell him, having already turned down approaches from both Barca and Bayern this summer.
Nevertheless, the two clubs continue to be linked, perhaps buoyed by Liverpool not wanting to offer Diaz a new contract at the moment, and reports suggesting the Colombian is unhappy with the Reds’ stance.
Bayern though may have already decided to move on, with The Athletic reporting that the German giants have enquired about signing RB Leipzig’s Xavi Simons.
The Netherlands international has already told his current club he wants to leave this summer, despite only signing for them on a permanent basis in January, having previously spent a year-and-a-half on loan from Paris Saint-Germain.

No negotiations have yet taken place between Bayern and Leipzig, although Simons is said to have expressed a belief that he is ready to take the next step in his career.
Simons is just the latest player to be targeted by Bayern as they look for a new forward to replace Leroy Sane, who has joined Galatasaray, while Jamal Musiala looks set for a long lay-off after picking up an injury at the Club World Cup.
The Bundesliga champion already missed out on Florian Wirtz, with Liverpool winning the race to sign the 22-year-old from Bayer Leverkusen, while any chance of signing Nico Williams has ended after he signed a new contract with Athletic Bilbao.
And attempts to lure Liverpool into selling Diaz have proved fruitless, with the Reds insisting that the 28-year-old is not for sale at any price.

That’s despite Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg claiming that Diaz has made it clear to Liverpool that he is open to leaving Anfield should a “really exciting offer” arrive. What’s more, Bayern’s sporting director Max Eberl is said to have held talks with Diaz’s management in recent days, with the German club not yet letting go of its interest.
Speaking earlier this week about his future, Diaz said: “We’re there, negotiating," Diaz said. "We’ll see what can be achieved, for us and for the club. We’ll try to do our best and make the best decision.
“We’re in the process of negotiations, talking with the club, with Liverpool, with everyone who’s approaching us. But I’m very calm where I am, you know, very happy. Trying to make the best decision, now."
