Napoli midfielder Jens Cajuste has turned down a move to Turkey with Besiktas, as he wants to return to the Premier League. Crystal Palace and Burnley are the current options.
That’s according to Il Mattino, who report that Crystal Palace and Burnley are vying to bring the midfielder back to England after his loan spell at Ipswich Town last season.
They explain that Cajuste’s future is unlikely to be in Turkey as the Swedish midfielder has, once again, turned down a move to Besiktas. The Turkish side had been pursuing him vigorously over the past week.
Cajuste has instead chosen the Premier League for his future. Burnley are interested but Crystal Palace are especially serious about a move this summer.
Napoli are open to selling him and had already reached an agreement with Besiktas to do so. They’ll now wait for Burnley or Crystal Palace to make offers for the 25-year-old.
Sevilla had also been a potential destination and have been in constant contact with the Italians, who are interested in Juanlu, but he is unlikely to be included in any deal. And Cajuste’s decision to focus on the Premier League would likely put Burnley and Crystal Palace in front anyway.
It’s now up to them to make moves, with it unclear what figure Napoli are looking for despite them being open to a sale.
