The Milwaukee Bucks have been very busy during the NBA offseason thus far. However, there have been no further concrete reports about the future of superstar forward Giannis Antetokounmpo.
One of the biggest moves of the offseason came when the Bucks decided to sign former Indiana Pacers center Myles Turner. In order to come up with the cap space to make that move, the team decided to waive and stretch superstar point guard Damian Lillard.
It was a bold move, but one that could make long-term sense. Lillard is recovering from a torn Achilles and there is no clue how he will return from that injury.
Plenty of other smaller moves have been made by Milwaukee as well. The front office brought back Kevin Porter Jr. and Ryan Rollins, signed Gary Harris, and also brought back Taurean Prince and Jericho Sims.
Now, the question remains, is Antetokounmpo fully bought in for the future? Will he head into the 2025-26 season as a member of the Bucks, but be open to demanding a trade following the season if the team doesn't make a run in the playoffs?
There are a lot of questions left to be answered in Milwaukee.
As the rumors continue to swirl, Antetokounmpo has spoken out. He sent a message that didn't really answer any of the questions about the future.
"Probably. We'll see. I love Milwaukee," he said when asked about staying with the Bucks.
That gives a fairly good idea that he's planning to at least start the 2025-26 season with Milwaukee. Obviously, there are still questions about what it will take for him to want to remain with the Bucks for years to come.
Last season, Antetokounmpo once again dominated the rest of the NBA. He played in 67 games, averaging 30.4 points, 11.9 rebounds, 6.5 assists, 1.2 blocks, and 0.9 steals per game, while shooting 60.1 percent from the floor.
At 30 years old, his prime is dwindling. He's still got a few years left playing at his current level, but he badly wants another championship under his belt. If he doesn't think that Milwaukee can compete, it would be no surprise to see him work his way out of town.
Expect to continue hearing rumors about Antetokounmpo in the coming weeks and months. It's likely that he'll play for the Bucks during the upcoming season, but the future is still very much up in the air.
