Brentford are playing hardball over Bryan Mbeumo and the Bees are demanding more than the £62.5m fee that Manchester United paid for Matheus Cunha.
Mbeumo is out of contract with Brentford in 2026 and the Cameroon ace has been linked with Tottenham, who could reunite him with former Bees boss Thomas Frank.
Cameroon assistant coach Ashu Cyprian Besong has now opened up on how the “professional” United-linked Mbeumo is handling the situation around his club future.
“Yes, obviously, he’s very frustrated with how long it’s taken. But he’s a professional and anticipates these things,” he told Telecom Asia.
“I spoke to him about a week ago and he is very calm with everything that is going on.
“But of course, he’s already told them he wants to go to United. He just wanted the two clubs to find an agreement, as he’s very grateful for the opportunity that he’s been given by Brentford in his career.”
