Liverpool plot move for "unbelievable" 24 y/o star - Liverpool
Liverpool have had an incredible summer of recruitment so far, building a squad more than capable of challenging to retain the Premier League title.
The Reds have already made several high-profile signings with Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong and Milos Kerkez, but are expected to make further additions before the transfer window closes.
The tragic loss of Diogo Jota has understandably shifted the mood away from the excitement around their transfer business.

However, there is no doubt that the players and the club will be determined to honour the Portuguese star by giving everything in the season ahead and bringing more silverware to Anfield.
Although Liverpool have already made a significant investment in their attacking options with the acquisition of Wirtz, further reinforcements may be required if reports regarding Luis Diaz prove to be true.
The Colombian winger has been repeatedly linked with a move away this summer, with Barcelona and Bayern Munich both reportedly interested in securing his services.
This week, Diaz opened up about his Liverpool future in a conversation with Colombian influencer La Liendra:
“We’re there, negotiating,”
“We’ll see what can be achieved, for us and for the club. We’ll try to do our best and make the best decision.
“We’re in the process of negotiations, talking with the club, with Liverpool, with everyone who’s approaching us. But I’m very calm where I am, you know, very happy. Trying to make the best decision, now.”
According to Football Insider, Liverpool remain interested in signing Newcastle United forward Anthony Gordon.
The publication claims that the Merseysiders have been monitoring Gordon’s situation in the North East after holding long-term interest in the left winger, who is said to be open to the move.
It is further noted that Newcastle are reluctant to sell the England international and would demand a fee of £100 million to consider parting ways.
Should Liverpool sign Anthony Gordon?
It is no secret that Liverpool have maintained an interest in Gordon; it was revealed last summer that the club contacted Newcastle about a potential deal but rejected an offer that included Jarell Quansah.
However, the Magpies will be competing in the Champions League themselves this season and have ambitions to challenge Liverpool in both the Premier League and domestic cup competitions.
A move for the 24-year-old, once hailed as “unbelievable” by Newcastle teammate Bruno Guimaraes, does not make much sense for the Reds if Diaz stays.
With Cody Gakpo already pushing for a starting spot on the left flank, it would arguably create excessive competition in that role.
Furthermore, signing a striker appears a more likely priority for Liverpool, given Darwin Nunez has struggled to deliver consistent output since his arrival, while links to Hugo Ekitike persist.
The club are also dealing with uncertainty over Ibrahima Konate’s future as he enters the final 12 months of his contract.
As a result, investing £100m in another winger seems a far-fetched approach at this stage, with other areas of the squad likely to take precedence.
