Arsenal have reportedly made a shock move for a forward in a world-record transfer fee.
It is understood that the North London club has agreed terms for the 20-year-old from league rivals Liverpool on Thursday (July 10). The Canadian scored seven goals in 19 appearances for the Reds after signing from them just 12 months ago.
While at Merseyside, the explosive footballer was in the 99th percentile for successful take-ons and tackles, 98th for inceptions, and 88th for blocks. Before then the attacker, who can also play as a winger, was at Sporting Lisbon and netted an impressive 16 times in 28 appearances.

The transfer fee for Olivia Smith is set to be the world’s first women’s player to break the £1m barrier, reports the Guardian.
This comes 46 years after Trevor Francis became the first £1m signing in men's football when he moved from Birmingham City to Nottingham Forest.

Smith's fee is higher than the $1.1million (£810,887) paid by Chelsea to sign the United States centre-back Naomi Girma in January - a then-world record.
Liverpool finished seventh in the Women’s Super League last season, with Smith scoring just below a third of the team's team’s league goals across the whole campaign.
She is thought to have a number of years left on her contract with the Reds after signing for them last July for a club-record fee of just over £200,000.
It appears then that Arsenal will pay five times more for the Smith's services, which sees her capable of playing on both the left and right flanks.

The Gunners have a shortage in forwards, with just Caitlin Foord favouring the left side.
Liverpool reportedly rejected several offers from multiple clubs for Smith until the London outfit came along.
Arsenal are keen to bolster their squad off the back of their stunning 1-0 Champions League win against Barcelona in May, the second time they have won the trophy.
Chloe Kelly has already signed on a free transfer from Manchester City along with left-back Taylor Hinds on another free transfer after her contract with Liverpool expired.

Leah Williamson told thousands of Arsenal fans at the club's victory parade outside the Emirates Stadium: "I said before I have been educated my whole life and seen with my own two eyes how successful Arsenal have been, especially Arsenal women.
"All I ever wanted to do was be a part of it. It's very special. We knew it was going to be a special day but when we all walked out we said this is one of those moments, this is one of the moments I'll tell my grandkids about. Thank you."
