Rasmus Hojlund's difficult spell at Manchester United could be granted a dream end with reports in Italy suggesting AS Roma want to sign the striker this summer.
The 22-year-old struggled to impress last season for United with just four goals in the Premier League. It's thought that he is available for transfer this window with interest growing from Italy.
Hojlund wants to stay at Old Trafford and fight for his future under Ruben Amorim. However, it's been well-reported that United are prioritising a move for a new centre-forward before the window closes.
According to Corriere dello Sport in Italy, Roma are the latest team to show interest in the Denmark international, claiming that they face paying up to £38.8million-£43.2m for his signature.
However, there is a catch and it's the appointment of Gian Piero Gasperini. The 67-year-old left Atalanta after nine years in charge in the summer after his contract expired. He has immediately landed a new job at Roma, replacing Claudio Ranieri.
Just like United and Amorim, Roma and Gasperini are keen to strengthen their options at centre-forward. Brighton's Evan Ferguson has been tentatively linked but Hojlund is said to have entered the fray.
Before his move to Old Trafford, the striker worked with Gasperini at Atalanta. During his single season in Bergamo, Hojlund scored 10 goals in 34 appearances and appeared to be one of Europe's most-promising attackers.

Gasperini, who advised Hojlund against moving to United, was previously full of praise for the striker during their time together in Italy. "He undoubtedly has great talent, but also great room for improvement," he said.
"These things are visible in both senses, he must work to improve because he has the characteristics to become one of the strongest strikers in the world."
Now, Corriere dello Sport claim Hojlund is the 'dream' striker for him at Roma. The report adds, however, that the Italian side must look to sell Artem Dovbyk before pursuing the United striker.
