Man Utd’s price tags for two players show different situations they are in, ‘will not drop their demands’ for one talent

Manchester United have set clear expectations over the transfer fee value that they have slapped on two first-team players at Old Trafford, according to reports.

Ruben Amorim is in desperate need to offload Manchester United first-team players who are not part of his long-term project at the Premier League club.

The Red Devils’ financial woes have caught up with them and Ineos and Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s spending power could be limited without the sale of players first.

United need to free up their wage bill and ensure that they maintain their spending in line with the Premier League’s Profitability and Sustainability Rules (PSR).

Ruben Amorim is preparing ahead for the start of the pre-season tour with United in the United States and Europe in July and August amid the summer transfer window.

The 40-year-old United manager is still expected to see new signings arrive at Old Trafford and the sale of other players before the window shuts in September.

Where do Man Utd stand on Alejandro Garnacho amid the transfer interest from Napoli and Chelsea?

Alejandro Garnacho is one of the players who is believed to be on the chopping block at Old Trafford after his relationship with Ruben Amorim fractured last season.

The 21-year-old winger plunged his future at Old Trafford into uncertainty after Alejandro Garnacho’s criticism of Amorim dropping him for the Europa League final.

Amorim reportedly told Garnacho to search for a new club in the aftermath of Manchester United’s 1-0 defeat to Tottenham in the Europa League final in May.

Garnacho has been linked with Napoli and Chelsea and The Daily Mirror reports that United value the Spain-born attacker at a hefty £60m amid their desire to sell him.

But the newspaper added that United ‘know they will not’ secure that exact £60m fee for Garnacho due to their position in needing to offload him from Old Trafford.

Man Utd now remain firm over Barcelona’s transfer interest over Marcus Rashford after what the La Liga club did

Barcelona have been linked with Marcus Rashford and the United player has expressed his desire to play at the Camp Nou after his return from Aston Villa.

Marcus Rashford lost his place in the United starting XI under Amorim and the 27-year-old spent the second half of the 2024-25 season out on loan at Villa Park.

Barcelona missed out on their pursuit of Spain winger Nico Williams after the Spaniard inked a new 10-year deal with La Liga outfit Athletic Club this month.

According to GiveMeSport, United will now ‘hold out’ for their £40m price tag for Rashford and ‘and will not drop their demands’ for the player’s value this summer.

The publication claims that United saw the ‘willingness’ of Barcelona in their pursuit of Nico Williams by triggering the Athletic Club star’s previous £50m release clause.

United had included the £40m asking price as an option in Aston Villa’s loan deal for Rashford, but the Premier League club opted against making his move permanent.
