Internationals | Belloumou helps Algeria to clean sheet in Africa Cup of Nations

West Ham United women's team left-back **Inès Belloumou** helped Algeria keep a clean sheet against Tunisia in her side's second Group B fixture at the Women's Africa Cup of Nations, held in Morocco, on Thursday evening.

_Les Fennecs_ played out a goalless draw with the 2022 quarter-finalists at Stade Père Jégo, Casablanca, to clinch the fourth point of their group-stage campaign, following their 1-0 victory over Botswana last time out.

It was Algeria who looked the more likely to score, having crafted 13 shots, sending six on target, and controlling the ball with 70 per cent possession.

With the top-two teams from the three groups - plus two best third-place sides - progressing to the quarter-finals of the tournament, Algeria have put themselves in a strong position of qualifying for the final eight ahead of Nigeria's clash with Botswana later on Thursday evening.

Belloumou, competing at her first major tournament with Algeria, and her side will hope to secure their quarter-final spot when they face record-holders Nigeria at Stade Larbi Zaouli, also in Casablanca, on Sunday 13 July (kick-off 8pm BST).
