Everton’s fortunes have been transformed since the takeover was concluded in December.
The Friedkin Group have landed on Merseyside and turned around the financial mess which they took on from Farhad Moshiri.
A lot of changes have been made at Everton in such a short space of time, with David Moyes back at the helm and steering the club in the right direction.
This summer is the first real opportunity for the Friedkins to put their stamp on the squad after a cautious January window.
Moyes is being backed by the Friedkins in the market and the Scot has just welcomed Thierno Barry to Finch Farm.
But things could have been a lot different as John Textor thought he had won the race to purchase Everton last year.
Having witnessed his compatriot secure the keys to the club, Textor has now taken aim at Moshiri for his role in the failed bid.

John Textor takes Farhad Moshiri swipe after failed Everton bid
With the failed bid well documented, Textor’s shock at not purchasing Everton is well known to those at the club.
MORE EVERTON STORIES
The American currently finds himself in a mess with the joint ownership of Crystal Palace and Lyon causing a UEFA headache ahead of the new campaign.
Speaking on TalkSPORT, Textor was asked about his move for Everton, and he did not hold back on his frustration towards Moshiri.
“First of all, I didn’t do that stupid Sky News interview on a whim. The owner of Everton called me and said: ‘John, the fans really need to understand your strategy. I need you to talk to this guy called Alan Myers’,” said Textor.
“I’d never met him, but I love him now [Myers]. That was the dumbest interview you could possibly give if you didn’t absolutely know you were going to be the owner of the club. So I absolutely knew I was going to be the owner of the club.
“What turns out is they were running two legal teams with a Chinese wall between them, and two guys at the finishing line with neither of them knowing.”
Textor has since closed the door on Everton signing Lyon players following interest being shown in Ernest Nuamah.
With the Friedkins now in charge, there won’t be too many Everton fans dreaming about what could have been under Textor.
Everton eyeing bright future under the Friedkins
Fans will be delighted to put the takeover saga in the history books, as Everton finally look like a club on the up.
The Hill Dickinson Stadium is transforming Everton’s revenue stream, which will allow greater room to invest in the transfer windows.
A lot of work has to be done this summer, and Angus Kinnear is certainly aware of that following his move from Leeds United.
However, things are definitely looking up for the Toffees.
Moyes is targeting European football over the coming years, but that will only come through the guidance of the American owners and continued investment.
Signing Barry is a good start to this summer’s window and fans will be wanting to see more of the same for the next month or so.
