Everton are still “concerned” about the profit and sustainability rules (PSR) as their summer transfer budget has been revealed.
David Moyes led the Merseyside giants to Premier League safety after returning to Goodison Park in January.
The Friedkin Group (TFG) is looking to help the club compete in the top half of the table after completing its takeover in December.
Everton are in a stronger PSR position, but they are still expected to be slightly restrained following their previous issues, having been deduced eight points for two spending breaches in the 2023-24 campaign.
Finance expert Stefan Borson exclusively told Football Insider the Toffees’ total budget is likely to be between £75-100million this summer.
Carlos Alcaraz has been confirmed as Everton’s first summer signing after the club triggered the £12.6million option-to-buy clause in his loan deal from Brazilian side Flamengo.

Thierno Barry deal to take up significant portion of Everton’s budget
Borson insisted the transfer fee for Barry will take up a significant portion of Everton’s budget this summer.
He told Football Insider: “I think the key issue for Everton is that they don’t seem to have assets to trade.
“We know that in a PSR world, and PSR should really be the only limitation here because you would think that the Friedkins would have a pot of cash that they know they need to invest here.
“So, but for a PSR issue, they’d just stick £200million in and build a squad into something that can compete next season. But it seems to be that they are still concerned about PSR.
“They have a slight limitation in terms of what they can do in the transfer market down to PSR, so £27million would feel like a lot of the budget if they haven’t got players they can sell.
“Now that they’ve ruled out Branthwaite by signing him up to a contract, I can’t think of any obvious players they can make a very substantial PSR profit on, so that is by its nature going to drastically reduce their budget for the summer.
“I would have thought if they have the PSR limitation, the logical thing to have done would have been to say ‘Look, we’re going to sacrifice Branthwaite, get £60million let’s say and go from there and reinvest that £60million profit into a number of players’.
“But obviously, that’s not the route, so I would be surprised if their total budget was much more than say £75-100million.”

Walker-Peters to Everton update emerges
In terms of another potential incoming, Football Insider revealed on 30 June Everton are interested in signing Kyle Walker-Peters, but they now face competition from West Ham and Besiktas.
In a blow to his suitors in England, Besiktas are believed to be ready to table a lucrative offer to the full-back, with manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer a keen admirer of his.
The 28-year-old, who made 35 appearances for Southampton last season, left St Mary’s on a free transfer last week following the expiration of his contract.
