It's a big week for Angel Reese. The Chicago Sky star was announced as this year's WNBA cover athlete for the "NBA 2K" video game, and she also unveiled her first signature with Reebok - the Angel Reese 1.
She's become only the fifth active player in the league with a signature shoe, and she'll wear it on court next week in Indianapolis for the All-Star Game.
Reese is certainly happy for herself and her own accomplishments, but she made a social media post to celebrate with one of her former collaborators.
"snack wrap is back #needdat," Reese said on social media. Her tweet marked the return of the McDonald's Snack Wrap - back after a years-long absence.
The menu item was first introduced in 2006, and the main ingredients have not changed in the new iteration. The classic snack wrap includes a chicken tender, lettuce, cheese and sauce in a flour tortilla. The revival gives fans the choice between two options - the spicy snack wrap and the original.
The original snack wrap went out of circulation in 2016, but McDonald's says that it heard fans cries to bring it back over the last nine years.
"From countless social media posts to full-fledged petitions, they never gave up on their favorite menu item. They're the ones who inspired us to make its return to the menu happen," the restaurant said.
The snack wrap is now available in both flavors as a standalone menu item, and customers can also purchase a combo meal that includes two wraps, a medium french fry and a medium drink.
The wrap isn't the only new addition to the McDonald's menu. The restaurant added the McCrispy chicken strips earlier in the year and has added a new suite of spicy items in both the breakfast and lunch suites.
Reese and the Chicago Sky have three games remaining before the All-Star game - two against the Minnesota Lynx and one more against the Atlanta Dream. We'll see what Reese can do on the court with just a week to go before the halfway point of the season - and if she can get the snack wrap she's looking for.
