Thomas Frank wants to sign Brentford attacker as a rotational option with Dominic Solanke

Tottenham want to sign Brentford striker Yoane Wissa after agreeing fee with West Ham United for Mohammed Kudus

As per reliable journalist David Ornstein, Tottenham Hotspur have agreed a deal to sign West Ham United attacker Mohammed Kudus. This news broke out on Wednesday evening, a day after the club confirmed the signing of Japanese defensive prospect Kota Takai from Kawasaki Frontale.

Spurs are paying around £55 million to secure the services of Mohammed Kudus. It is not yet clear as to whether there are any add-ons involved in the deal, but the initial fee already represents a significant outlay for a club like Tottenham who have been notoriously reluctant to spend big under chairman Daniel Levy.

The Ghanaian international will travel to N17 on Thursday for medical tests before penning a six-year contract with the Lilywhites. But Spurs want more options in attack for the 2025/26 season, owing to the uncertain futures of some of their forwards.

Son Heung-min, who has entered the final year of his contract, showed signs of slowing down in the previous season and the club bosses are willing to listen to offers for him this summer. Richarlison, too, is surplus to requirements for Thomas Frank, who is plotting a move to reunite with one of his trusted lieutenants from Brentford.

Recent reports suggest that Tottenham are ‘weighing up financials’ ahead of a potential move for Brentford for Yoane Wissa. They have enquired about the 28-year-old, who scored 19 Premier League goals last season and forged a mouthwatering partnership with fellow African Bryan Mbeumo up front for the Bees.

Thomas Frank wants to use Yoane Wissa as an alternative option to Dominic Solanke

Now, TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey has revealed that Frank wants to sign Yoane Wissa as an alternative option to Dominic Solanke. The Spurs boss would like a reliable option to allow Solanke an opportunity to be rotated, particularly with a gruelling schedule on the cards next term.

“I am told that Frank always wanted, ideally, Wissa and Mbeumo to join him,” Graeme Bailey exclusively told TBR Football.

“Mbeumo did not happen, and then Kudus emerged as that target for the right – the idea is firmly to bring in Wissa and Kudus from this point, but a lot to be done on both those fronts at this point.

“Wissa really is fascinating, as I am told Frank considers him to be a striker when it comes to the role he is expected to fill at Tottenham.

“Not every club that’s in for him, see him in that role, but Spurs want him to be that striker – the alternative to Solanke at this point, it would seem. Also, it’s interesting to see how this impacts not only someone like Son but Richarlison.”

Tottenham set their sights on Brentford’s star forward Yoane Wissa, aiming to reunite him with manager Thomas Frank in a bold transfer move.

Wissa would be a smart buy for Tottenham

Wissa has proven himself in the Premier League, netting 45 goals in 137 appearances in a Brentford shirt. Despite playing in England for four years, he still remains an underrated striker for many.

The DR Congo international’s link-up play, movement, physicality and direct running could complement Solanke if Frank decides to use a two-man strike force. If he employs a 4-2-3-1 formation, we expect Solanke to be his main man in attack with Wissa acting as the England international’s back up.

Set to turn 29 later this year, the African ace is operating at the peak of his powers and would represent a shrewd signing for Spurs if they can agree a fee with Brentford.
