Once one of Manchester United’s most vibrant academy products, Jesse Lingard has seen his career drift increasingly into headlines that have little to do with football.

From launching his own fashion line to relocating to South Korea after nearly a year out of the game, the 32-year-old’s journey post-Old Trafford has been far from conventional.

Earlier this year, Lingard found himself in court as a defence witness in his grandfather’s sexual assault trial.

The Englishman insisted he had no knowledge of the allegations and would have “cut ties” if he had.

Now, another off-field issue has hit the former England international.

As per the The Sun’s report, Lingard’s clothing company ‘Be Yourself Clothing Ltd’ has been struck off by Companies House for failing to file accounts since January 2023.

The firm, which had £25,126 in unsold stock and owed nearly £54,000 at the time of its last filings, was fined £750 before receiving a closure order in April.

It comes just months after Lingard’s other fashion business, JLingz Ltd, went into voluntary liquidation with debts of £276,000.

Despite these setbacks, Lingard has found some form in South Korea, scoring five goals in 16 league appearances for FC Seoul, who sit sixth in the K League 1.

He’s described life in Korea as “good” and admitted to enjoying fast food favourites like McDonald’s and Papa Johns since making the move.

Lingard’s career took a huge turn after his loan spell at West Ham, where many were surprised when he didn’t join the Hammers on a permanent.

Lingard picked up form again, and found his spark under then-manager David Moyes.

However, he returned back to United ahead of the 2021/22 season, before famously scoring against West Ham at the London Stadium.

The 32-year-old then had a loan spell at Nottingham Forest, who were managed by Steve Cooper at the time.

Before making the move abroad to FC Seoul, in 2024.
