Mohammed Kudus is a step closer to completing his West Ham exit.

The Ghanaian winger looks set to leave the London Stadium, after a £55million bid from Tottenham was accepted by the Hammers.

Graham Potter will not be too devastated about losing the 24-year-old, as he notched just five goals and three assists last season.

If anything, he will be happy that he will have a huge windfall to spend on potential incomings as he seeks to improve the Irons’ Premier League fortunes.

Kudus funds should allow West Ham to spend big

David Sullivan and Co need to back Potter in the transfer window, it is a must after a disappointing campaign last time out.

That kind of money could change the ex-Brighton manager’s fortunes in the dugout in East London after he won just five games in his first season.

The E20 outfit are in need of a major rebuild across all areas of the pitch; they will need to bring in a Kudus replacement as well as strengthening in other areas.

One area is defence, with the likes of Taylor Harwood-Bellis and Charlie Cresswell heavily linked with moves to Potter’s side.

The front line is in desperate need of a transformation to ease the burden on Jarrod Bowen, with the likes of Crysencio Summerville and Niclas Fullkrug failing to do so.

The move makes sense for all parties, the player failed to impress last season and wants to move on, while the Irons can use the funds gained to benefit Potter and improve the squad before he loses the supporters and the board.

It seems increasingly likely that Thomas Frank’s side will be his destination, but one thing is for sure, Kudus will not be in Claret and Blue next season, unless there is a drastic turnaround.
