Report – Man Utd have big edge in talks to sign £47million star

Dusan Vlahovic Serbia Striker Mitrovic

Manchester United, at times in recent years, have been run like a circus, with most of their decisions in the transfer market turning out into absolute jokes. Multiple seasons of going down the same path saw the club hit rock bottom last year.

For a prestigious club like the Red Devils to finish 15th in the Premier League table, it was evident for everyone to see just how much they had fallen off. Ruben Amorim was the man brought in to resurrect the project and this summer is where he will have to do most of the work.

Signing players is important for Man Utd, but what is even more important is to sell players who are no longer a part of the club’s plans. When so many entries and exits are required, one very viable option becomes negotiating swap deals.

For example, as per Caught Offside, one player that Man Utd are keen on signing is Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic and the club have a huge edge in signing the Serbian number nine, due to the card that they hold called Jadon Sancho.

Sancho is yet another name in a long list of overpriced signings that haven’t worked out for Man Utd in recent years and he spent last season on loan at Chelsea. The English winger now is keen on a move to Juventus and the Old Lady want to sign him.

Vlahovic has a lot of interest

Vlahovic is valued at around £47million by Juventus this summer and has a lot of interest in him from the likes of Newcastle United, Tottenham, Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest. However, Man Utd could look to use Sancho to pull this off as a swap deal.

Man Utd’s striker woes need no introduction. Rasmus Hojlund led the line for the Red Devils for much of the last season but failed to showcase consistency. Ultimately, he scored far too few goals to be trusted to lead the line for another season.

Vlahovic on the other hand has the pedigree of having been a reliable goalscorer in Serie A. In fact, he is quite underrated outside of Italy and a move to Man Utd could help shoot him to limelight. It remains to be seen how this saga plays out.
