Manchester United fans have grown increasingly frustrated with the club’s ongoing struggle to land a new striker this summer.

Talks were held with Ipswich over Liam Delap.

Only for the youngster to choose Chelsea and the lure of Champions League football in June.

Viktor Gyokeres, a long-standing target since Ruben Amorim arrived at Old Trafford, is now closing in on a move to Arsenal.

Thus, dealing another blow to United’s transfer plans.

The club have since been forced to explore alternatives.

A list including Hugo Ekitike, though the Frenchman is now more likely to join Liverpool.

One name that has remained on United’s radar is Moise Kean.

The former Everton man who the Red Devils have shown interest in since May.

He remains under strong consideration amid the growing list of missed opportunities.

However, according to transfer expert Matteo Moretto on X, United may now have fresh competition from the Saudi Pro League.

Al-Hilal, now managed by Simone Inzaghi, have made initial enquiries into signing Kean, who currently plays for Fiorentina.

Talks are reportedly underway between Kean’s representatives and Al-Hilal, with the club considering whether to submit an official offer.

Earlier this summer, Al-Qadsiah had offered Kean a deal worth €15 million net per year.

However, they turned their focus to Mateo Retegui after Kean appeared unwilling to move.

Despite this, Al-Hilal have not made direct contact with Fiorentina, and Simone Inzaghi has not yet personally reached out to Kean.

Importantly, Kean’s release clause of €52 million (£45m) expired on June 15.

Therefore meaning any club now must negotiate directly with Fiorentina, who are reluctant to lose the 25-year-old after his prolific 2024/25 season.

Kean remains just one of many striker options for Al-Hilal.

Victor Osimhen is believed to be their primary target – potentially softening the threat to United’s interest.
