Arsenal have now signed £40k per wk star with "high tactical intelligence"

Arsenal have formally confirmed their third signing of the transfer window.

The Gunners have had a good start to the summer with multiple acquisitions.

Kepa Arrizabalaga and Martin Zubimendi were signed earlier this month. The duo have now been joined by Christian Norgaard.

The Denmark international has signed a long-term deal after arriving from Brentford, and will wear the number 16 shirt next term.

Sporting director Andrea Berta told the club’s official website: “We’re very pleased to welcome Christian Norgaard to the club.

“He has been a consistent high performer in the Premier League and brings many qualities to our club.

“He is a leader, and a player with high tactical intelligence and versatility who will have a very positive impact to the squad.”

Norgaard should be a good backup for Zubimendi

Norgaard was a mainstay at Brentford, registering 196 appearances across all competitions.

The 31-year-old had his best-ever season last term, registering five goals and four assists from 34 league outings. He is a genuine attacking threat from dead-ball situations.

Norgaard should be a quality deputy behind Zubimendi for the number six role.

He won 62 percent of his aerial duels in the recent campaign with 5.7 recoveries and 2.3 tackles per game.

His passing accuracy was on the lower side at 83 percent, but should be much higher at Arsenal, who command more possession than the Bees.

Norgaard, who was on £40,000 per week at Brentford, appears to be a good signing. Hopefully, the £10 million signing can become a fan favourite just like Jorginho.

The Italian made a big impression during his two-and-a-half seasons at the club, and Norgaard will be aiming to build a similar relationship with the Gunners faithful.
