Declan Rice has just two words to say after training with Max Dowman at Arsenal yesterday

Arsenal’s pre-season has officially begun.

The Gunners are aiming to finally get over the hurdle after finishing second in the Premier League three seasons in a row. Mikel Arteta is desperate to get his hands on the title.

Many senior stars returned to the Sobha Realty Training Centre after their holidays, and young Max Dowman was also called up to train with the first team.

The 15-year-old is expected to make his Arsenal debut in the upcoming season.

Declan Rice sends message to Max Dowman after training with him at Arsenal

Max Dowman is one of the most exciting young players in the world.

The teenager is already a household name among Arsenal fans, even though he hasn’t played a senior game for the Gunners yet.

Arteta has publicly raved about Dowman, as have many other Arsenal players over the last few months. That has raised the excitement level among the fans, who can’t wait to see him.

Dowman was involved in training under Arteta on Wednesday, and the youngster posted a few pictures of himself alongside stars like Martin Odegaard and Declan Rice.

Rice has heaped praise on Dowman in the past, and it looks as though he is really excited to see him involved in the senior setup.

Under Dowman’s Instagram post, Rice commented “starts now”, suggesting that the 15-year-old’s senior career has officially begun.

Manchester United’s Chido Obi added: “Your time!”

Max Dowman could break an all-time Premier League record in 2025/26

People at Arsenal are so excited about Dowman, and rightly so.

The youngster is a superstar in the making, and he is expected by many to make his senior debut in the 2025/26 season.

Dowman will not break Ethan Nwaneri’s record of being the youngest player to play in the Premier League, but he has the chance to break another record.

The youngest goalscorer in the Premier League is James Vaughan, who scored for Everton against Southampton in 2005 at the age of 16 years, eight months and 27 days.

Dowman will not turn 16 until the last day of 2025, so if he manages to score at any point in the upcoming campaign, he will become the youngest scorer in the history of the Premier League.

That would be a phenomenal achievement!
