Four Aggies set to play in NBA Summer League

(KBTX) - Four former Texas A&M men’s basketball players, Quenton Jackson, Dexter Dennis, Wade Taylor IV, and Zhuric Phelps, will showcase their talents at UNLV’s campus at the NBA Summer League.

The NBA2K26 Summer League tips off on Thursday and will run through July 20 in Las Vegas.

Quenton Jackson, who was just in the NBA Finals, resigned a two-way contract with the Indiana Pacers and will play on their summer league team. The Pacers tip off against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Thursday at 4:00 p.m. on NBA TV. This is Jackson’s fourth time playing in the summer league. Last year, he also played for the Pacers, and in 2022-23, he was a member of the Washington Wizards.

Dexter Dennis is playing for the San Antonio Spurs’ summer league team. Dennis and the Spurs have already gotten some summer action in the California Classic, where he put up 10 points in a 90-88 win over the Lakers on Sunday. The Spurs start their Vegas run at 9:00 p.m. against the Philadelphia 76ers on ESPN.

Two members from last year’s A&M squad are also looking for a roster spot: Zhuric Phelps and Wade Taylor IV.

Taylor IV signed a summer league deal with the Milwaukee Bucks. They’re in action at 8:30 p.m. against the Nuggets on NBA TV.

Phelps is playing for his hometown, the Dallas Mavericks. Phelps will be a part of the 2025 No. 1 overall pick Cooper Flagg’s debut. Phelps, Flagg, and the Mavs take on the LA Lakers at 7:00 p.m. on ESPN.
