There continues to be no love lost between WNBA star Angel Reese and former NFL quarterback Robert Griffin III.
If you're unfamiliar, the tension between Reese and Griffin likely started after the onetime Heisman Trophy winner said the Chicago Sky forward "hates" Caitlin Clark following an on-court confrontation between the two rivals back in May.
Griffin added fuel to the fire Thursday when he bizarrely brought up the Clark/Reese situation again while ostensibly trying to defend Reese from a racist photo edit h saw online.
In his comments, Griffin alleged that multiple people close to Reese have confirmed her feelings about Clark to him.
"I never attacked her or her family when I stated and backed up with clear basketball evidence that Angel Reese hates Caitlin Clark. It's sports. Everybody won't like each other," Griffin said. "People in Angel's inner circle called me and told me I was right and Angel Reese has grown to hate Caitlin Clark because of the media always asking her about Caitlin and being constantly compared to her."
Reese saw Griffin's tweet, and she issued a pretty blunt response calling the former ESPN analyst a liar.
"lying on this app when everybody know the first and last name of everybody in my circle for clout is nastyyyy work," Reese tweeted.
It didn't stop there either, as Reese's mother also got involved. She replied to Griffin's tweet and also accused him of making things up.
"Man stop with the My daughter's 'circle' is so small & tight so I'd be interested 2 know who called U Whomever U say 'called' U is not in her circle 2 speak on her feelings towards a media/fandom made up beef," Reese's mom said. "Just stay on that side bc the doors are closed over here."
It's important to note that we don't have any proof over who isn't being truthful here, but moving forward, Griffin would probably be best served not mentioning Reese's name on social media.
All he's earned by doing so is unnecessary drama.
