'Really good': Thomas Frank has already given his verdict on Mohammed Kudus, it's clear why Tottenham want him

Mohammed Kudus is close to completing his move to Tottenham Hotspur, which will be much to the delight of Thomas Frank.

Tottenham have agreed a £55m deal for Kudus following lengthy negotiations with West Ham United over a deal for the 24-year-old.

TBR Football revealed that Tottenham’s talks for Kudus stalled on Tuesday evening; however, Daniel Levy quickly convinced David Sullivan to accept his cash offer.

Frank has been keen to bring in an attacking signing for Spurs this summer, and he appears to have finally landed a player he highly rates.

Mohammed Kudus is a ‘really good player’, according to Thomas Frank

Thomas Frank has already made it clear that he is a big fan of West Ham forward Mohammed Kudus, following his praise for the attacker last season.

Speaking about the Hammers ahead of Brentford’s trip to East London, the Danish head coach revealed that the 24-year-old was a ‘top player’, along with Jarrod Bowen and Lucas Paqueta.

Back in February 2025, Frank told BrentfordFC.com: “West Ham, in my opinion, offensively and defensively, have clear principles in all phases, they want to control more and more of the ball.

“They have some top players: Mohammed Kudus, Lucas Paquetá and Jarrod Bowen are really, really good.”

The 51-year-old has been eager to sign a right-sided attacker this summer, with Tottenham initially targeting Bryan Mbeumo.

But now, the Dane finally has his man, with Kudus set to undergo a medical on Thursday ahead of his transfer across London.

The player himself could also be a beneficiary of the move, with a chance to work under a coach who has an excellent track record for improving attacking talent.

The former Brentford manager has already worked wonders with players such as Ollie Watkins, Ivan Toney, Bryan Mbeumo and Yoanne Wissa.

Josko Gvardiol claimed Mohammed Kudus was one of his toughest opponents

Meanwhile, Josko Gvardiol has claimed that Kudus was one of his toughest opponents during an interview ahead of the 2024/25 season.

The Manchester City defender was so impressed by the forward’s ability on the ball and claims that he is a player who ‘deserves more attention’.

Gvardiol told the Man City podcast: “If we talk about a player, then I would like to say last season it was Kudus from West Ham. I remember the first game he was on the bench, so he came in for the last 15/20 minutes. He was playing on my side, so I was like, ‘He looks sharp and he’s good on the ball’.

“Then I remember the second game at the end of the season when he scored the bicycle kick. He was the one who I struggled the most to play against, and I think he’s the one who deserves more attention. I believe this season, he’s going to come out and show his quality.”

This is very high praise from such a talented defender, and quotes which should excite Spurs’ supporters ahead of next season.
