Robert Kraft confident Patriots will turn things around in 2025

The Patriots made sweeping changes after the 2024 season that included firing Jerod Mayo after one year and bringing in Mike Vrabel.

It will be another new era for New England as it looks to rebound from consecutive 4-13 seasons and return to the playoffs for the first time since 2021.

For Robert Kraft, he’s looking forward to what his team does in 2025.

“I personally am very excited,” the team owner told Julian Edelman on the “Dudes on Dudes” podcast. “The last two years have been very tough. After my family, this team is the most important thing. The one thing that brings everybody together is the NFL, and we gotta win. I believe we’re set up this year to turn around what’s gone on the last couple of years.”

Kraft has made a coaching change twice in the last two years, one of which meant moving on from Bill Belichick after 24 years and six Super Bowl titles.

The Patriots’ roster will also look different in the new season. Drake Maye will return as quarterback in an important Year 2, but he’ll have more weapons — including Stefon Diggs — and better protection after New England drafted Will Campbell in the 2025 NFL Draft.

The Patriots also drafted Kyle Williams and TreVeyon Henderson, who could emerge as strong offensive options for Maye.

Maye was a bright spot in a trying year for the Patriots, and showed growth and improvement with each passing week.

A fresh voice in Vrabel might be what the Patriots need to get back on track, and is focused on New England reaching its goal

“The overriding goal for the program that we’re going to build is going to be to win the division,” Vrabel said on “Forged in Foxborough."
