Every year for the past several seasons, Milwaukee Bucks fans have had to deal with national analysts and fans of other NBA teams throw around wild trade proposals that involve the franchise’s best and most beloved player, Giannis Antetokounmpo.
And, every year, Bucks fans get to take a victory lap when the two-time league MVP and member of the NBA’s 75th Anniversary Team tells someone that he is happy in Milwaukee and wants to stay.
On Thursday, Bucks got to take their annual victory lap again as the Greek Freak revealed his plans for where he will play during the 2025-26 NBA season.

During a recent appearance on the popular stream “iShowSpeed,” Giannis was asked point blank if he was going to stay in Milwaukee. He responded, “Probably, probably. We’ll see. Probably. I love Milwaukee.”
And while many rival NBA fans and national analysts will hang onto the word “probably” in hopes that their dreams of one of the league’s best players leaving the smallest market, Bucks fans are convinced it is an indication that he is definitely staying:

The 2025-26 NBA season will be the first year of the three-year supermax contract extension that Giannis signed with the Bucks after they traded for Damian Lillard. This deal guarantees that he is under team control for the next two seasons with the third one being a player option.
And while the national media may be trying to create a narrative that Giannis wants to leave Milwaukee, he truly has given no indication that he will ever do so unless the franchise stops trying to be competitive.
Emphasis on “trying.”
This offseason, Milwaukee has waived Lillard so that they could replace Brook Lopez with Myles Turner. They have also re-signed their most important role players from last season, ensuring that the Greek Freak has plenty of three-point shooters to kick the ball out to. Additionally, there are still moves that can be made to improve the roster, and one can be sure the Bucks will do anything they can to surround their best player with the pieces he needs to be successful.
