Insider compares Steelers roster to ill-fated Eagles ‘dream team’: ‘Don’t know how much they’ve …

How much better did the Pittsburgh Steelers get this offseason? Despite making numerous significant moves, one NFL insider has doubts that they have improved much at all.

Dan Graziano of ESPN compared the Steelers’ 2025 team to the ill-fated Philadelphia Eagles’ 2011 “dream team,” when the Birds finished 8-8 and head coach Andy Reid was fired.

“The better parallel would be Philadelphia in Andy Reid’s last year, when they went out and got all sorts of stars… the dream team. Now, we were sitting there in the offseason thinking their roster was better. If the Steelers are going all-in, I just don’t know how much they’ve improved their team this offseason,” Graziano said on "First Take."

The Steelers have made significant changes. They shipped out all three quarterbacks and signed Aaron Rodgers in what looks to be his final season. Additionally, the Steelers have made significant trades for DK Metcalf, Jalen Ramsey, and Jonnu Smith.

Despite all those additions, they have shipped out wide receiver George Pickens and safety Minkah Fitzpatrick, creating two new holes on the team. For the Steelers in general, it feels like one step forward, but a similar pattern with a move forcing them to take another step back.

The goal this year is clear: to win a playoff game, but the holes across the team could still prevent that from happening, much like that Eagles team in 2011.
