Trading Lonzo Ball was always going to happen. Despite still being 27 years old, it’s felt that his career is on a shorter timeline because of his knee injury two years ago. The point guard wanted to go somewhere he’d finally have a chance to win. So the Chicago Bulls sent him to Cleveland for athletic forward Isaac Okoro. It isn’t over yet, though. Multiple names remain on the roster who could still be moved. Arturas Karnisovas hasn’t worked anything out, but it’s been known for months that the phone lines are open.
The only uncertainty is which player will go next. NBA insider Brett Siegel of Clutch Points has kept up with the situation. From what he’s gathered, two names are getting action from other teams: Coby White and Ayo Dosunmu. The two young point guards have plenty of value since each is still on an affordable contract. Extending them would also not be too expensive. As of now, Dosunmu is garnering more interest, but there is a possibility both could be moved before the regular season this fall.
There’s been more interest in Dosunmu than White, but the Bulls have fielded calls for both.
I’d say it’s more likely than unlikely that one gets traded before the season. https://t.co/Cm0cSIb48Y

The Chicago Bulls need to lock up Josh Giddey soon.
If they plan to hollow out their point guard position with two potential trades, securing the guy you see as your future to an extension would be wise. Smart money says the Chicago Bulls will wait on any moves until the Giddey situation is sorted out. As to teams who could make moves for White or Dosunmu, Atlanta first comes to mind. The depth behind Trae Young is questionable at best. Denver, Houston, and Orlando also feel like possibilities. Each expects a deep playoff run and needs reliable depth to challenge the defending champion OKC Thunder.
As for compensation? The Bulls are probably looking at young players in return, with maybe some 2nd round picks. They could secure a future 1st if a team is desperate enough. The Summer League and preseason should bring some clarity on this.
