Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Noni Madueke to Arsenal is now “here we go”, which means it’s essentially a done deal.
The Chelsea winger is poised to complete a move to the Gunners for a fee in excess of £50m, according to Romano, while the Athletic’s David Ornstein has the figure at a total of £52m.
Madueke had been strongly linked with Arsenal in recent days and things have seemingly progressed quickly, with the England international also agreeing terms on a five-year contract at the Emirates Stadium.
See below for the details from both Romano and Ornstein, two of the most reliable transfer journalists in the business…

Noni Madueke transfer fee looks expensive
It’s slightly surprising that Arsenal appear to be paying quite so much for a player like Madueke, who hasn’t really set the world alight at Chelsea or even been an automatic starter.
The 23-year-old has plenty of potential and is young enough that he could still get better, but have Arsenal really agreed to pay quite so much for a promising player who is most likely just providing cover for Bukayo Saka?
It’s important to note that Romano says the £50m-plus fee is with add-ons included, so it’s not clear exactly how much is being paid up front.
In theory, AFC might be paying something like £35-40m up front, while it’s also not clear precisely what the terms of those add-ons are, so it might not be that realistic for them to be met.

Madueke to become Arsenal’s fourth summer signing
Arsenal have had a busy start to the summer, with three new faces joining already.
Kepa Arrizabalaga was the first to join, with the goalkeeper making the move from Chelsea after spending last season on loan at Bournemouth.
Next was Martin Zubimendi, with the Spain international joining from Real Sociedad and looking like an ideal replacement for the departing Jorginho.
