The Man United star is one of five players who have requested to leave Old Trafford this summer.

Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Tyrell Malacia, Alejandro Garnacho and Antony have all been told by United that they need to seek a move instead of returning to pre-season training with a view to selling them all to boost transfer funds this summer.

Garnacho is the only player in the list who was at United for the full season last year, with the rest all completing loan spells away from the club. However, after falling out of favour with Amorim, the 20-year-old winger looks to be leaving this summer.

Napoli back in for Garnacho deal

Serie A giants Napoli were interested in signing Garnacho as early as the January transfer window, but in recent weeks, their interest in the winger seems to have cooled and they had been prioritising other targets, such as Sancho.

However, it now seems that the Italian club are ready again to make a move for Garnacho. According to a report by the Mirror, Napoli ae hoping to sign the 20-year-old for £45m, despite seeing a £60m bid rejected in January. It says that United are ‘desperate’ to get rid of Garnacho, and so despite their valuation of him at £60m, they could sell him for cheaper to ensure a deal.

If a move was to happen, Garnacho would link up with former teammate Scott McTominay, who won the Serie A Player of the Season award for his contribution to Napoli since leaving Old Trafford last summer.

The Napoli President, Aurelio De Laurentiis, has hinted his belief that Garnacho could do the same as McTominay and thrive if he were to leave United. He said: “Garnacho's got pace, flair and potential.”

Garnacho made 58 appearances for Amorim’s side last season, scoring 11 goals and providing 10 assists. Despite his decent numbers, the Argentine rapidly fell out of Amorim’s favour in terms of both team selection and attitude.

Garnacho sale could ‘green light’ Mbeumo deal

However, Brentford reportedly want over £65m, which is a tough number for United to reach. However, if they are able to confirm a quick sale for Garnacho, it could help the Red Devils afford Mbeumo, and lead them to sending a bid that Brentford would accept.

Mbeumo would be a superb replacement for Garnacho, as he scored 20 Premier League goals last year for Brentford. He also provided seven assists, and would help to improve United’s lack of goals from last year. It would also prevent Spurs from poaching the Cameroon international, too.
