The last week or two haven’t been exactly kind to Leeds United in the transfer market. The Whites are seeing hordes of their rumoured transfer targets move to other clubs.
Whether it’s Sunderland, another Premier League team or a team elsewhere in the world, Leeds United’s list of transfer targets for this summer seems to have gotten out, and Daniel Farke is seeing more and more of his rumoured targets join other clubs.
Already this month Sunderland have signed three Leeds United targets in Habib Diarra, Noah Sadiki, and Reinildo Mandava, whilst four new names have arrived at Elland Road.
This week, Leeds United completed the signing Gabriel Gudmundsson who’ll fill the left-back void with Junior Firpo joining Real Betis. Next up, Leeds are trying to sign Sean Longstaff from Newcastle United but are facing difficulty there.
And as the likes of Sunderland keep on bringing in new players, Leeds keep on seeing the players they want head elsewhere, with one apparent target now set for Aston Villa.

Aston Villa poised to complete Marco Bizot transfer, Leeds United liked him
Farke desperately needs a new goalkeeper this summer. So far, there have been several goalkeepers linked with a move to Leeds United but none have arrived as of yet. Reports in France now state that Leeds have showed an interest in signing Marco Bizot from Stade Brest, but that he’s expected to complete a move to Aston Villa ‘in the coming hours’.
L’Equipe write that Leeds ‘expressed interest’ in the 34-year-old former Ajax, AZ and Genk man, who also has one cap for the Netherlands. But he’ll move to Villa Park where he’ll be a no.2 going into next season, leaving Leeds United with an ongoing search for a new goalkeeper.
It remains that Illan Meslier is expected to leave Leeds United. And for the upcoming friendly against Manchester United next week, it looks like Farke will have to play Karl Darlow in goal: he’ll likely be no.2 next season to whoever comes in this summer.

Reports have now revealed Leeds United’s no.1 goalkeeper target
Bizot looks like one of many who Leeds have cast an eye on this summer. But recent reports have revealed who is the club’s no.1 target to replace Illan Meslier this summer.
It’s understood that Leeds United want to sign Lucas Perri from Lyon and that the Brazilian is Farke’s no.1 choice to come in, as interest in Torino goalkeeper Vanja Milinkovic-Savic begins to fade after his links to Elland Road gathered pace.
Perri will cost Leeds United £12.8million this summer. The 27-year-old kept 10 clean sheets in 33 Ligue 1 games last season, and despite Lyon avoiding relegation to Ligue 2 amid their financial issues, he still looks poised to leave the club this summer.
For Leeds United, the more of the summer that passes by without a new no.1 in place, the more that Farke may get worried about the position, and consider a panic buy, with a new goalkeeper absolutely needed this summer.
