Richarlison had a successful spell at Everton before his move to Tottenham.

Thierno Barry became the latest arrival at Everton, with several more expected before the new Premier League campaign gets underway in August.

The Toffees will travel to Elland Road to face newly-promoted Leeds United for the season opener, and the lineup utilised by David Moyes could have a very different feel to it.

Not only could Barry make his debut for the club, but the XI may now have a chance of featuring Richarlison after the latest update from North London.

Tottenham may be set to sanction Richarlison’s exit

Richarlison has already been linked with a move back to Merseyside over the last few months, and those links are only likely to intensify after Spurs broke their unofficial transfer embargo with West Ham.

MORE TOFFEES STORIES

Mohammed Kudus made the move to Tottenham, becoming the first Hammers player to switch to the North London club since Scott Parker back in 2011.

Around £55million they paid for Kudus, and at that price, it is clear that he won’t be a bit-part player under Thomas Frank, and instead, one of those currently residing in North London will take that role.

In all likelihood, that will be Richarlison, and at this stage of his career, he’s unlikely to be overly keen on being a squad player, which could open the door for an exit and, in turn, a move back to Everton.

Moyes needs more attacking arrivals at Everton

Defensively, Everton have been more than capable since the Scotsman returned to Merseyside, with most of their shortcomings arriving in the final third.

Barry’s arrival will do plenty to subdue those concerns, though more will certainly be needed.

The return of Richarlison would solve that, and allow them to pursue other targets elsewhere to bolster their squad where necessary ahead of the new Premier League campaign.
