Morgan Gibbs-White to Tottenham medical update amid huge Nottingham Forest transfer blow

Morgan Gibbs-White is expected to begin a medical at Tottenham on Friday.

Spurs are said to have triggered a £60m transfer release clause in Gibbs-White’s Nottingham Forest contract.

It comes as the Reds are also set to lose winger Anthony Elanga to Newcastle United in a £55m deal.

Gibbs-White’s departure would be a huge blow to the club as they prepare for another assault on the Premier League and Europe in the new season.

New Tottenham boss Thomas Frank is said to be a ‘long-term admirer’ of the Forest play-maker, who moved to the City Ground from Wolves in August 2022 and has since played over 100 league games for the club.

Gibbs-White has been transformed from a promising youngster into a consistent Premier League top performer at Forest, while also assuming the captaincy and making the England squad.

He was linked with Manchester City before they signed Rayan Cherki and Tijjani Reijnders.

Forest are also facing interest in another of their key players, with Atletico Madrid claimed to be interested in Murillo, amid concerns from pundit Simon Jordan that the Reds could have their best stars ‘cherry-picked’.
