It looks like Noni Madueke will become the latest player to move directly from Chelsea to Arsenal.
One of the most intriguing sagas of the summer transfer window so far has been around Noni Madueke, who’s been in the United States playing for Chelsea at the Club World Cup. In the background the 23-year-old Blues winger has been heavily linked with a move to rivals Arsenal.
Recent reports claimed that Gunners manager Mikel Arteta reached out to Madueke’s agents to try to pitch the idea of a move to the Emirates Stadium.
Madueke recently agreed a five-year deal with Arsenal, and fresh claims suggest a transfer is imminent after a breakthrough between the Premier League clubs.
Journalist Fabrizio Romano now reports via X that Madueke will now complete a move across London after Arsenal agreed a deal with Chelsea for him worth in excess of £50m with add-ons included.

Noni Madueke talk hasn’t been received well by Arsenal fans
It’s pretty evident that Gunners fans aren’t sold on the idea of signing Madueke this summer.
Even though the England international has plenty of experience, there has been a negative reaction to the transfer noise in recent weeks.

Many Arsenal fans on social media discussed the Madueke links and insisted they don’t want the Chelsea attacker in their squad next season.
Meanwhile, Arsenal supporters have even launched a petition with the hashtag #NoToMadueke. At the time of writing, it has over 4,000 signatures. For what it’s worth, we think it’s over the top and very harsh from the minority of Gunners fans.

Arsenal fans are wrong about Noni Madueke
It’s true that Madueke does divide the opinion of the Chelsea fanbase, but there’s no denying that he’s got a special quality and huge potential.
On his day, the left-footed wide man has proven he can perform at the highest level. The fact that he should have his best years ahead of him in his career should excite Arsenal, too.

Noni Madueke’s senior club career
Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca claims Madueke has improved under him, scoring 11 goals across all competitions in the 2024/25 season. Unfortunately for him, the Blues have moved in a different direction by adding the likes of Estevao Willian, Jamie Gittens and Joao Pedro to shake up the squad.
From an Arsenal perspective, the winger will immediately provide genuine competition and cover for Bukayo Saka on the right flank. We expect he could push Gabriel Martinelli for the starting role on the left as well.
Once Madueke gets going in North London, we would not be surprised to see him do well.
Chelsea fans should be crossing their fingers that history doesn’t repeat itself with Madueke as everyone knows what happened when they let a young Mohamed Salah leave Stamford Bridge.
