Daniel Muñoz has been a regular for Crystal Palace since joining them from KRC Genk in January 2024 and was a key part of their squad that won the FA Cup last season.
Three months ago, the Premier League club rewarded the right-back with a new contract until 2028, with an option for another year.
The Colombia international has an important role under Oliver Glasner at Crystal Palace, but that has not stopped him from expressing his desire to make a move elsewhere this summer.
Muñoz revealed this during a chat with Win Sports’ Saque Largo, with Antena 2 relaying his comments.
He remains hopeful of leaving the Eagles in this window, to fulfil his dream. The 29-year-old added he won’t be disappointed to continue at Selhurst Park if a big move doesn’t materialise.
“I want to play for the best teams in the world, but they haven’t spoken to me directly,” he said.
“I dream and work every day to achieve it, and I hope it can happen as soon as possible. Hopefully, it’ll be in this window, but if not, I’m very happy at Crystal Palace.”
His comments don’t specify which specific top club[s] he would like to join this summer.
According to Antena 2, the South American’s dream from his childhood is to play for one of Real Madrid or Barcelona.
Real Madrid have signed Trent Alexander-Arnold while Barca have the right-back position covered with Jules Koundé and Héctor Fort. Therefore, it’s highly unlikely Muñoz will join either of them in this window.
