AC Milan have made Crystal Palace’s Jean-Philippe Mateta their priority target for attack this summer.
That’s according to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, and he took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to report the striker is ‘very keen’ on joining the Serie A club.
The Crystal Palace player’s representatives are working to try and help him seal a move to Milan.
Tavolieri claims the 28-year-old’s camp are ‘putting pressure’ on the FA Cup winners to open the exit door for him. It’s unclear whether the Eagles are willing to sanction his sale, months after [last December] the Frenchman extended his contract until 2027.
Oliver Glasner and Crystal Palace need to decide whether to sanction a move and if they do, set a price for him.
It’s to be noted Tavolieri’s report on Milan’s interest in Mateta is yet to be backed up concretely by the Italian media.
On Thursday, TuttoMercatoWeb reported Al-Hilal manager Simone Inzaghi has the Crystal Palace player and RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Šeško in his target list.
Mateta scored 17 goals and registered four assists from 47 games for the London club last season.
