Milwaukee Bucks: Potential Damian Lillard Replacement Slipping Out of Bucks’ Hands? West Team’s …

The Milwaukee Bucks have brought back almost everyone and replaced the center they let go with a younger one. The only problem remaining is who will take the place and fill the shoes vacated by Damian Lillard who was waived a week ago.

They have one person in mind but the problem is that they might not be attractive enough for this guy compared to other teams chasing him.

Several reports claimed that the Bucks are interested to sign three-time All-Star Bradley Beal who is expected to be bought out by the Phoenix Suns.

The former Washington Wizards shooting guard joined the Arizona organization in 2023 to join Kevin Durant who got there in January of the same year. They formed the Big 3 of Phoenix together with club’s longest tenured player Devin Booker but they did not achieve significant success.

That Big 3 has been broken up with KD going to the Houston Rockets for young players that include Jalen Green.

Beal is reportedly looking to move on, too, but his contract gets in the way.

Milwaukee Bucks don’t have much for Bradley Beal

Beal is on the fourth year of the $250 million, five-year contract he signed with the Washington Wizards and although some predict him to take a lower salary with his new team, the Bucks might still not be able to afford him just because the other teams have a better offer.

The Athletic wrote:

As long as Bradley Beal secures a contract buyout with the Phoenix Suns, the LA Clippers are likely the leaders to sign the guard, league sources tell The Athletic.

The Clippers can offer Beal up to $5.3 million in salary for the 2025-26 season. They have cap space left over from the $14.1 million non-taxpayer mid-level exception, which they used most of to sign Brook Lopez. The team finalized his contract on Sunday.

Bucks have already spent a chunk of what they got from stretched-waive provision they availed to waive Lillard on Myles Turner. They also gave a guaranteed contract to Ryan Rollins and then fresh deals for Kevin Porter Jr., Gary Trent Jr., and Bobby Portis.
