Player ‘waiting for news’ to secure Liverpool exit – Offer at least €5m short of Reds request

Three days ago, we covered claims from Italy that Napoli have offered €50m plus €5m bonuses for Liverpool’s Darwin Núñez.

It was also stated they have proposed a net salary of €5/6m per year to the striker.

Friday’s edition of Corriere dello Sport gives an insight into the work being done by Napoli and what’s needed for them to sign the Liverpool player.

Antonio Conte and his side dream of bringing the 26-year-old to the Naples club, and they have already held talks with Liverpool and his agent, Fali Ramadani.

The newspaper also reports the Italian champions’ offer of €55m plus €5m bonuses and states that it’s enough to reach an agreement with Arne Slot’s side.

According to Corriere, Liverpool want €60m for the Uruguay international, without making it clear whether that’s including or excluding bonuses. If it’s the former, Napoli have to offer at least €5m more.

The former Benfica man currently earns €5.5m per year at Anfield and Napoli are offering him €5m. Núñez wants it to be raised by €1m ‘for the handshake’.

Conte’s side have to decide whether to raise their offer for both Liverpool and the player.
