Chelsea star left blown away by Wolves target Jhon Arias at the Club World Cup, he even asked…

Jhon Arias is the latest high-profile player to emerge on Wolves’ radar this summer after his impressive Club World Cup performances.

Wolves have shown an interest in Arias as a possible replacement for Matheus Cunha, who joined Manchester United earlier this summer.

The 27-year-old has enjoyed an incredible campaign at Fluminense with 13 assists to his name while helping the Brazilian giants reach the Club World Cup semi-finals before being knocked out by Chelsea.

Reports indicate that Vitor Pereira is accelerating interest in the Colombian as Wolves will submit an opening offer of £13 million for Arias, which will fall below his valuation.

But with Arias dreaming of playing in Europe, surely Wolves have a great chance of landing the fleet-footed winger, something one Chelsea star will applaud.

Enzo Fernandez asked for Jhon Arias’ shirt at Club World Cup

Arias destroyed former Wolves stars Pedro Neto and Ruben Neves for chances created at the Club World Cup, becoming one of the standout players in the tournament.

A 2-0 defeat to Chelsea on Tuesday saw Fluminense crash out of the competition in the semi-finals, but despite losing, midfielder Enzo Fernandez was left impressed by his display and even asked for his shirt at full-time.

“I asked Jhon Arias for the shirt because I know he was one of the best players in the Club World Cup,” Enzo said after the game.

As the data shows, Arias was incredible in most attacking aspects of his game, completing an impressive 2.24 dribbles per match and landing 1.85 shots on goal.

The Colombian forward is capable of producing match-winning moments, and with the physicality to match his quality in the final third, he’s perfect for Premier League football.

Enzo Fernandez joined in his appreciation of Arias

When someone of Enzo’s quality is waxing lyrical over Arias, you know he’s a special talent and someone Wolves should be doing everything to sign.

With the success of Andre in English football after joining from Fluminense, there’s even more motivation for Fosun to get a deal over the line.

Ultimately, Wolves need a game-changing replacement for Cunha, and Kaka’s praise for Arias arguably explains why he’s the ideal candidate.

“Today, Arias is a big name in Brazilian football and a cornerstone for Fluminense. He has been outstanding in the league for some time,” Kaka said.

“He’s an extremely dangerous player who can decide a match at any moment. He has stood out in every competition he’s played in, made history with Fluminense with their Libertadores win, and now he’s looking for a major victory at the Club World Cup.”
