Exclusive: Port Vale submit transfer offer for Aston Villa player

League One outfit Port Vale have submitted a loan offer to Aston Villa in an attempt to sign goalkeeper Filip Marschall, sources have exclusively informed Football League World.

The Valiants have been incredibly active in the summer transfer window as Darren Moore looks to bolster his first-team squad following promotion from League Two, with no fewer than seven new arrivals so far - free transfers have been greatly utilised with raids taking place mainly on their divisional rivals and also teams from the league below.

One area that Moore hasn't delved into yet is the loan market, and as pre-season advances, Premier League clubs will start to loan out their younger talents - and Vale have made their move in that respect to bolster their goalkeeping department.

FLW has been told that Port Vale have approached Premier League outfit Aston Villa in a bid to sign the aforementioned Marschall on a loan deal for the 2025-26 season.

It was exclusivelyreported by Football League World earlier this week that the Staffordshire outfit were preparing an offer for the 22-year-old, along with fellow League One side Blackpool, but it is the club from Vale Park that have made the first move to try and secure a temporary transfer agreement.

Marschall is working his way up the English footballing pyramid when it comes to his development, having spent last season on loan at Vale's rivals at the other end of the A500 - Crewe Alexandra in League Two.

He started all 46 fourth tier matches for the Railwaymen and kept 16 clean sheets, which has led to League One interest as Villa look to find the best club for Marschall's next step.

Prior to his successful season with Crewe, Marschall spent time on loan at MK Dons in 2023-24, and has also had two spells in the National League with Gateshead, where he played 39 times.
