LeBron James Has One Request for Steph Curry Amid Lakers-Warriors Trade Rumors

LeBron James has been the centerpiece for the Los Angeles Lakers over the past couple of years. As it turns out, however, this could all change soon, with Rich Paul, James' long-time agent and business partner, hinting at the possibility of his client leaving the Lakers if they are unable to build a squad that will compete for the championship this coming season.

Unsurprisingly, this declaration sounded the alarm for virtually the entire league as several teams started registering their interest — albeit unofficially — in the NBA's all-time leading scorer. One of those teams is the Golden State Warriors, which has been identified as a realistic landing spot for James should the Lakers decide to green-light a potential blockbuster trade.

James, for his part, has chosen not to speak publicly about his links to the Warriors. Instead, the four-time NBA champion has decided to take up a new sport amid his eventful offseason. Recently, James revealed that he has started golfing, which is a move that quickly caught the attention of Golden State superstar Steph Curry.

Curry, who is a highly respected amateur golfer, was one of the first to welcome James to the sport. In fact, Curry even did an impersonation of James' golf swing in a recent video, wherein the Warriors guard also expressed to James that, "the game needs you, big fella.”

Speaking to reporters during the 36th Annual American Century Championship, Curry revealed that he had a conversation with James "last week" as the Lakers superstar expressed "how much fun he had" playing golf.

James caught wind of Curry's message, and the former decided to respond. James reposted the video of Curry's interview via his Instagram stories, adding a series of laughing emojis. The four-time NBA champ also issued one request for Curry.

"I'm working and will get there! Give me time. 😉"

James would not be where he is now had it not been for his tireless work ethic. If he is able to put in a similar level of commitment to his golf game, then it would not be a surprise if the 40-year-old becomes an elite golfer himself — a prospect that Curry himself appears to believe is very feasible.

It should only be a matter of time before James and Curry link up on the golf course. Whether or not they do so on the same team in the NBA, however, is an altogether different matter.
