‘Synergy between 2 clubs’ – Evan Ferguson could end up at Everton eventually after transfer help

Brighton and Hove Albion have offered Even Ferguson to ‘dozens of clubs’ this summer, including Premier League rivals Everton.

That’s [according to Corriere dello Sport](https://www.corrieredellosport.it/), who report that AS Roma have accelerated their efforts to finalise their deal for him due to competition from Atalanta.

The newspaper explains that Roma believed that they had plenty of time to sign the Brighton striker and had turned their attention to other targets, the more complex ones, but had been forced to speed up the process because of the competition.

Ferguson has suitors around Europe after essentially being put on the transfer list by Brighton this summer after returning from a loan spell at West Ham.

They’ve offered him to Roma, Atalanta and ‘dozens of clubs’ to find a suitor. That includes Everton in the Premier League, also owned by Roma’s owners the Friedkin Group.

Indeed, Everton had recently stepped up their efforts to sign Ferguson on loan with an option to buy but stepped away once they learned of Roma’s interest in him. Corriere dello Sport suggest they did so because he’ll have a bigger role at Roma and: _‘With the promise of potentially taking priority over the youngster if Massara (Frederic, sports director) were to buy him and then subsequently decide to sell him. In short, a synergy between the two clubs owned by the Friedkins.’_

They could reignite their interest in future if Roma buy Ferguson permanently and decide to sell at any point as part of a new synergy between the clubs being worked on by the Friedkins.

Brighton and Ferguson are now close to giving the whole deal the green light and pushing it over the line, with the latter deciding on his future this week and seemingly picking Roma from the options on the table.
