Marcus Rashford may be about to get his dream transfer as Barcelona are poised to push for the England international.

Despite being Manchester United’s golden boy, having risen through the club’s academy, graduating to the senior squad and establishing himself as a key member of the Red Devils, Rashford’s set to leave the club after 20 years.

Last winter saw Ruben Amorim make the decision to drop Rashford not only from his starting eleven, but from the squad entirely, seeing the attacker comment that he wants a new challenge.

As such, a loan move was lined up for Rashford to join Aston Villa for the rest of the season, with The Villains having a £40 million option to buy, which ultimately they didn’t take.

Whilst the decision by Villa meant Rashford moved back to Old Trafford, it opened the door for a dream move to Barcelona, with the Spanish champions regarding the attacker extremely highly.

Rashford’s seen by the LaLiga side as extremely versatile across the front line, making him a key asset to have.

Already, sporting director Deco has met with Rashford’s agent to discuss a move; however, for some time, it appeared that the United man was a Plan B.

Barcelona have been prioritising a move for Athletic Club’s Nico Williams and Liverpool’s Luis Diaz to reinforce their left wing.

However, both clubs have rejected the approaches from Barca, retaining their key men.

Now, Florian Plettenberg has reported that Barcelona are going “all-in”, making Marcus Rashford their priority this summer.

Yesterday, it was reported that manager Hansi Flick has agreed to the pursuit, wanting Rashford in his squad for next season, giving a major boost to the potential move.

Whilst his time at United was clearly over, being stripped of his number 10 shirt, instead giving it to new signing Matheus Cunha, Rashford has still been turning up to Carrington to train.

The attacker has been completing individual training rather than with the squad, keeping himself in shape for wherever he ends up next, though most likely, Barcelona.
