Ahead of the 3pm BST kick-off, there will be a rendition of Liverpool’s official club anthem, “You’ll Never Walk Alone”, and the home club will lay a wreath alongside the away supporters in the Bill Shankly Kop stand. A minute’s silence will also be observed in memory of Diogo and Andre, with digital tributes displayed on the big screen and across the pitchside LED boards.
Both sets of players will wear black armbands, while Preston have also produced a commemorative 18-page edition of the matchday programme, featuring written tributes to the siblings.
Jota, 28, had only recently married his long-term partner Rute Cardoso on June 22, sharing images of their ceremony on social media just two weeks ago. The couple had three children together - their firstborn in 2021, and their third arriving in November. His funeral took place at the same venue and was attended by Liverpool and Portugal teammates, both past and present.
