Jadon Sancho could be handed a surprise exit route out of Manchester United this summer, but it would require a favour from rivals Liverpool.

Having spent last season on loan at Chelsea, the out-of-favour 25-year-old is expected to leave Old Trafford on a permanent basis this summer. Sancho is one of five United players granted extra time off to find a new club, with Serie A giants Juventus rumoured to be among his suitors.

However, the latest reports from Germany suggest another possible exit route could be on the cards, and it’s not his former club. Sancho was signed from Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund in 2021 and spent the second half of the 2023/24 season back there on loan.

According to outlet TZ, Sancho could be a target for Bayern Munich this summer as they look to bolster their left-wing options following the departure of Leroy Sane. Given the player's prior Bundesliga experience and relatively low asking price compared to other targets, he could represent a strong option for Vincent Kompany.

The report also notes that Bayern were among the top European clubs interested in Sancho prior to his return to England, but it was United who eventually won the race for the winger. Now, he could be available to Bayern at a reasonable fee as the Manchester club look to offload players deemed surplus to requirements.

However, other reports in Germany claim Liverpool's Luis Diaz is Bayern’s priority target this summer, after they missed out on Nico Williams, who ultimately extended his contract at Athletic Club. That said, Liverpool have twice rejected approaches from Barcelona and Bayern for Diaz this summer, according to the BBC, and insist he is not for sale, despite only having two years left on his deal at Anfield.

Should Liverpool remain firm in their stance on the Colombian, Bayern will be forced to consider alternative targets. If reports are to be believed that Sancho is among them, it could provide a promising exit route for the United man.
